A North Star helps answer some of the big questions – Why are we here? What do we do? What’s our value to the business? What’s our creative ambition and how does it serve the business? – as well as more practically informing how to live it in practice.
WDC has a tried and tested approach to helping in-house agency teams crystalise their North Star in a collaborative workshop format that brings the team together to co-create their mission, using two of our tools and frameworks.
Your Brand Shield displays the North Star that encapsulates the mission of the team clearly and succinctly; accompanied by a short list of the key things the team is fighting FOR and AGAINST (i.e. the behaviours that crystalise what we stand for and how we show up); and the superpowers the team is fighting WITH – i.e. the unique skills, distinctive approach, or unrivalled qualities that underpin the team’s identity.
Your Rituals are the habitual practices we adopt in order to embed our core values and make our identity tangible. Ranging from what they mean in the course of day-to-day project delivery, as well as initiatives that sit outside and foster shared identity over the long-term.
APPROACH
• A 1-2 day workshop consisting of a series of exercises that build out the key components of a Brand Shield before starting to apply them to Ritual workstreams
• Typically preceded by a short Discovery phase engaging the individual members of the team via survey or interview to gather inputs to provide stimulus for the workshop
• Plus, a follow-up session with WDC to review further post-workshop refinements and developments of those initial outputs.
